Automatic Air Separator APW
An automatic air separator is a unique energy-saving device. It can effectively separate and remove non-condensable gases (mainly air) from the refrigeration system, reduce the condensing pressure of the refrigeration system, increase the refrigeration capacity, save energy, and reduce refrigerant leakage into the environment caused by manual air removal. An automatic air separator is a unique energy-saving device. It effectively separates and removes non-condensable gases (mainly air) from the refrigeration system, reducing the condensing pressure of the refrigeration system, increasing the refrigeration capacity, saving energy, and reducing refrigerant leakage to the environment caused by manual air removal. It features a compact structure and high discharge capacity.
The automatic air separator operates automatically, rather than only discharging when high pressure is reached and noticed, ensuring that the content of non-condensable gases in the system is kept at an extremely low level at all times.
Practice has proven that multi-point venting is the only effective way to remove non-condensable gases from the entire system. By efficiently separating and discharging non-condensable gases in the refrigeration system, the automatic air separator reduces condensing pressure and thus reduces system operating energy consumption; the equipment cost is generally recovered within 3 to 12 months.
Hansen air separators are factory assembled and tested in actual refrigeration systems before leaving the factory.

The upgraded APW automatic air separator uses a touch screen interactive control box, which can be remotely monitored by a computer and is ideal for large systems with a refrigeration capacity of up to 1500 refrigeration tons (5275kW). The gas discharge capacity of the APW automatic air separator is at least 2 to 3 times that of other similar products, and even 10 times that of other brands of small air separators. Standard APW automatic air separators are divided into AP08W, AP16W, and AP24W according to the number of vent points; APCW is an extended version that controls the number of vent points through an extended control cabinet, and the number of points can be customized. This product operates automatically through electrical control, and each vent point can be independently adjusted according to system requirements. The APW includes an automatic water bath bottle and an optional NEMA4 rated protective cover. The European standard option uses an all-welded structure and complies with European electrical standards. The APW is CSA certified and suitable for ammonia and Freon refrigerant systems.
